Punjab Police Raises Educational Scholarship Amounts for Employees’ Children
A Significant Increase in Support for Education
The Punjab Police has announced a significant increase in educational scholarships for the children of its employees. The move follows directives from the Inspector General of Punjab Police and reflects a commitment to supporting the educational advancement of police families across multiple levels of schooling and higher education.
Revised Scholarship Amounts by Education Level
Children pursuing graduation or BS Honours degrees will now receive a minimum annual scholarship of Rs. 60,000. At the intermediate level, the annual scholarship amount has been doubled, rising from Rs. 25,000 to Rs. 50,000. For matriculation students whose parents are employed in Grade Four, the scholarship has been increased from Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 20,000 annually. Each revision represents a meaningful improvement over the previous figures and brings the support amounts more in line with the actual cost of education at each level.
Full Tuition Coverage for Specialised Degrees
Beyond the revised scholarship amounts, Punjab Police has announced that it will cover the full tuition fees of children enrolled in specialised degree programmes. This includes engineering, medicine, MBA and BBA programmes. The decision to extend full tuition coverage to these fields acknowledges the higher financial demands of professional and technical education and removes a significant barrier for police families whose children aspire to pursue these disciplines.
